Any crossover is going to promote exhaust scavenging. Some are simply more efficient. The crossovers use the low pressure tail of an exhaust pulse helps increase the velocity of the high pressure front of the exhaust pulse. It is the also the reason that headers are "tuned" to certain lengths.

wow... so i go to buy them via paypal and paypal put a hold on my account saying I have another account with a negative balance of 115 dollars! wtf! i called them and he said their "fraud team " would look into it. Total BS I am canceling my PayPal account after this and never using them again. He said they were basically gonna take the money out of my account to cover the negative balance on the other one.

With an x-pipe, the exhaust from one bank is going straight across the pipe from the other bank. When it does this, its creating a suction (only at high rpm's same as LT's) which pulls exhaust from the cylinder. An h-pipe equalizes pressure from one side to the other but there is no suction being created because the majority of the exhaust gas is going straight down the pipe. The gas going across the h would have to be at an angle for it to create suction, thus making it a x. Same principle as a air vac you would buy from Snap-on. You couldn't put a tube going straight into the vac tube at a right angle because it would blow both directions. The tube has to be pointing back so it creates suction.

My BBK offroad H pipe sucks balls. Fitment was crap and it hangs down a good inch lower than my UPR catted X did.

I've seen and read a lot of good things about the cheaper Jeg's offroad H though, if I were going to do it again, I'd go that way instead.

I had a pypes on mine, then switched over to a bbk. The bbk is better than the pypes but i put a mac on my wife's and was really impressed with the fitment. It sealed up perfect the first time and has been riding strong ever since. When I switch to long tubes i am definately going with mac.

Personally I would pay a little extra and go stainless. To me it has a different tone than regular steel tubbing. Plus It will last alot longer especially if you live up north IMO. Thats my

ol boy is right....back pressure is the purpose......I like my bbk's with the flowmasters. They sound good even better with no cats.....but they do hang lower then other products I've used but this can be fixed with a plasma cutter and welding skills to adjust the brackets....my.02!

The H as a crossover is more for sound. The performance is from bigger pipe, no cats, better flow.

Also 86er, good point didnt notice that. But the Magnaflow will give a differnt tone then the pypes one. Performance wise? basically the same.
I have straight pipes on mine. Don't have a "gay y pipe" either. They come right off the manifolds and go right into my catback.

If I remember right AM used to carry MAC at one point. The problem is MAC can't keep up with their demand. You can wait months sometimes for the part you ordered to get made. AM got tired of dealing with the back orders and stopped selling MAC.

yea, the site says the wait on the shipping is 1-4 weeks, which is ok because I have yet to buy the catback
