Comp Cams - 2011-2012 Mustang 5.0L Coyote Camshafts - AmericanMuscle.com

It's that time! We've gotten literally hundreds of inquiries about the 2011 & 2012 5.0L Coyote Mustang cams. The wait is finally over! They're in-stock and shipping. Can't wait to bolt these up to our 2011 Automatic to see what it'll do to our current 10.43 @ 130mph. We'll have dyno results and more soon!

Want some specs on them in the mean time?

None of these are spring required cams, however ALL OF THEM need the phaser limiter kit, which we'll have up on the site soon.

Stage 1 & Stage 2 Cams are compatible with stock gears and stock converter, while the Stage 3 cams need a 3.73 or steeper rear gear ratio and long tube headers. Converter will probably be a good idea in Stage 3 as well, but we'll know for sure once we install them in ours!

those stage 3 cams look like they will go well with the boss intake manifold.

Will there be any way to make a "Ghost Stock Idle tune" with these? Can't wait to see some numbers.

I'm not puttin cams in mine, just curious for those that might ask the question. Mine will hit my goals as soon as I put the pro charger on it.

That's all I have decided to do. Now if I could quit buying treadmills and stuff it would go a lot quicker. Besides it always seem the first cams to come out end up being the bottom of the barrel in a year.

The ability is built into the PCM's, however we are going to still be held up, as we're waiting for these parameters to be available for access within aftermarket tuning software.

The Boss comes with lopey cams from the factory. The stock tune simply "tones them down" like you're saying. Once you put in the track key, it simply lets the cams do their thing. So, yes, the technology is out there.

These cams are going to be fine for boost. Just like in the 05-10's, there are boost-specific cams and then there are cams for N/A. I've tuned plenty of N/A cams (like Hot Rods and Thumpr Cams) on forced induction cars. You lose maybe an extra .5lb of boost maximum, not a big deal at all. Worth it, if you're after the sound of an N/A cam but power of a supercharger/turbo/nitrous.

I've gone back and forth between the 2...I can't make up my mind so I'm just going to start collecting parts that I'll need either way. 80 lb/hr injectors, some spark plugs, which I've been digging heavily into, a clutch...thanks on the info on this Chris, I'll be placing that order in about 2 weeks, shocks, ya know stuff like that. The cams would be a nice addition...although at $1400...WOW!!! That's steep lol.

Too many bad experiences with the drugs. Over dosed a couple motors a few years back and vowed to never take the "easy" way out again.

Overdosed a few motors?? Easy way out??

You ran too big of a pill and ran out of fuel? Not dyno tuned? Not properly installed?

It's almost impossible to "overdose" a motor on nitrous these days...
Nmu's shut off the nitrous if your fuel pressure drops
Window switches only allow nitrous to activate at your programmed rpm ranges per gear
wot switches make it impossible to introduce nitrous unless your at wot

I've been playing and spraying for years with no negative effects. As long as you set it up correctly and use it properly its as or more effective as any other type of F/I and just as safe.

yeah bottle fed gt is right skunk.. nitrous is super safe dude.. im willing to bet that its just as dangerous or even less dangerous than any blower or turbo setup when you stay under when you stay around 550whp on this motor.

I don't know, I've just never cared for using nitrous. I'm looking at a remote mounted twin turbo setup now that I will probably stick with. Running that at around 8-9 lbs of boost and I should be happy for a while.

i rather have twins or even single turbo or a any blower instead of nitrous.. but i also rather have 5000 bucks left in my bank account and have about the same power. for the limits of this motor is really not worth it to get twins as you wont benefit much from them because with a small single turbo you will be able to push the motor to the limit.. now if you have a built motor and want 1000whp i understand why you would need twins.. because you would need to have a big single turbo that will have some lag and with twins you wont have as much lag. for a stock coyote i think that twins is just a waste of money.
