August sale is pretty lame. Who wants stock replacement taillights, 5 sets of different wheels (most I've seen on sale at once), upper but no lower control arms? The parts I buy this month will go on sale next month like always lol. Time to shop around for deals on suspension parts. Still love AM tho.

i have been waiting for something to go on sale that i would like to purchase for as long as i can remember. so i got inpatient last month and bought 4k worth of parts, and as soon as i bought them the next month some of them went on sale, moser 31 spline axles, and gears, on sale. comeon now am, if we had a poll on here for what to put on sale for each category could we get the top part to be featured in a sale?

I think parts should be suggest and actually go one sale! Some of em don't even go down in price I've noticed! I've waited for performance parts to go on sale for a year now and nothing has happened. I feel like I should email chris young about this.

I feel ya there, since sn95's are getting older, they tend to not care as much as the new stuff imo. Same with tuning, sn95's they only have pretty basic bama tuning, so I've heard...

They're not evening briniging in good parts anymore. Just oil or cover shit. LMR and summit treat the SN95's way better.

![]() Think about this: Most of our cars are like what, between 17 and 13 years old? All of our paint is most likely faded to some certain extent, and who wants a perfectly coloured part, on a faded body where it will just stand out? When you get say...a cowl hood painted, IMO the shop who paints should keep your car to test fit, AND blend it in. IMO though. There is also alot more volume/options for the s197 cars, and they do ALL of the painting in house. Also, ive if im not mistaken: The sale parts are the ones that have sat in inventory for a long while not doing much, so they try to put them out and get rid of some of the backstock. (Manager in a retail store )So if almost all of the performance parts sell decently, they have no reason to lose money by putting them on sale. But if some of the stuff thats sat around on their shelves just wont leave, they knock a couple buck's off and throw it in the sale bin to draw attention! Reguardless, the sn95 (non-new edge) aftermarket just isnt that big. They were the odd in-between years that most people sadly love to hate.

The reason August doesn't really have many good sales, especially for SN95's is partially because most people drive them for the summer, and rebuild them/work on them in the fall/winter so they aren't inconvenienced with the car being out of commission for periods of time.

Sounds a good thread to have. Even if not everything is made on-sale, just a single item would make a big difference I'm sure for all of us.
Regardless I check everyday for new products, each month for sales, and can't wait for my paychecks to be flowing again to order stuff. :O

basically what im trying to say is that if i didnt like the item for 140 why would i for 120?? And the op's opinion is that maybe something more performance oriented could go on sale once in a while and i do agree, it would be sweet to see something new i dont have already also you guys are dead wrong on that pre painted parts, Id buy a cobra bumper + saleen wing + hood in a heartbeat if you offered them painted. and im sure many fellow sn95 owners agree, I really think you should do a poll or something on the site cause you guys would probably make a killing with pre painted parts for us. all in all you guys always do good by me and have great customer service, so dont think im displeased with the site in any way, you guys are always helpful when i call as well so keep up the good work Last edited by sj408; August 4th, 2011 at 11:43 PM. |

1. People who look in the ad's dont remember, or care to remember that they were only 20-50 bucks more at one point. They just see SALE HERE, LOOKIE ME, SALE SALE SALE. And then people grab at it like candy. It works in my store, and works in just about every other place ive worked. lol And with the pre-painted parts, as i said, yes, they PROBABLY could make a killing. But it's a huge gamble for them. Our cars are old, and faded. (you can say your's isnt all you want, but it IS) Its a HUGE gamble in a market where EVERYONE is always trying to get a handout. For instance: John here has a red sn95. Its 13 years old and faded, not much, and hell he probably cant even tell. Now, he order's some "pre-painted" parts from AM, whom has never seen his car, nor can they tell how they should blend the new Rio Red, into the older, faded red. He gets all go-happy and throws his brand spankin' new hood on and......OH NO....it's so much cleaner, and more pristine then the rest of the body panel's. What does he do? Bitches and complain's to AM stating that the paint didnt match, it's completely off, and wants a refund. Does ANY company want to lose money? HELL NO. We HATE returns. Plain.And.Simple. Do you get what im trying to get at? It's all a risk in business, and sometimes, even though it could be worth it. Most times it's not. (So Chris...why haven't you guys hired me yet.... )
