SCT Stock Tune Problem
I recently had to return my ECU to stock to take my 2011 5.0 in for service (Bent shift forks) - I didnt drive the car at all (stuck in neutral) after loading the stock tune, but it seemed to work ok.
After the dealer got the trans fixed, they called me and said now the ECU is throwing a code: P0605 - PCM ROM Error. They said they contacted Ford and they are going to have to replace the ECU. I got the car back until they get the new ECU since its driveable, which is how I got the code pulled with my SCT tuner. Doing some research it sounds like it may of been a corrupted stock tune somehow. This wouldnt surprise me because when I first received my Tuner, all of the Custom tunes were corrupt and tried to load a tune made my car undriveable. A/M was able to unlock the ECU, send me new tune files, and everythings been fine since. But now I'm concerned, because having the bad/corrupt initial tunes, and now a possible bad stock tune (Unsure how this would get corrupt) do I just have a bad tuner (Keeps corrupting tunes?) or what should I do? Sucks that now Ford is replacing the ECU, I don't want to go through this again if I ever have to go back in for warranty work. (Not to mention I'm sure they will call shenanigans if I keep showing up with a bad ECU and deny my warranty.) Any feedback/thoughts from the guys at A/M or anyone here? |
