I got my CCW today! CCW Talk!

I am not planning on carrying everyday. I am glad I now have the option to is I choose. The exciting part is to pick a new pistol to carry.

Who else carries and what do you carry, and what kind of holster?

Well I don't carry, but I keep my 5" govt 1911 in my car during work, or when I go to shady parts of Houston or during drive bys and drug runs. I keep mine in a Milt Sparks summer special 2. When I'm at home, I keep it unloaded with the hammer back and thumb safety on and wear it around the house just to get a feel for it and to assure myself that the safety won't work itself off and discharge while carrying in the future lol, and so far it's been great. Keep in mind that I haven't tried any other holster so my opinion is mostly invalid compared to others who have more experience with this matter. However, the 5" 1911 is the shortest thing I keep concealed in my pants.

Brownells had a badass deal on these during thanksgiving week, when I bought mine, but they have raised the price back up to $100 since then.
Read the reviews, damn near perfect. Almost every forum post I've read about people who used these have been great rave reviews.

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=9...MMER-SPECIAL-2

I know you have a 1911 or two, so if you decide to carry one of those, I'd get a better belt made to support the weight of a firearm. Belts are like the foundation of a good concealed carry rig. That way you won't look like an asshole who sags one side of his pants.

I just got my CCW at the beginning of summer. I dont carry everyday either and really got it for two reasons. First being when Im on the bike since Im out in the country a lot by myself and we have severe issues with meth and crackheads here. Second being that I dont have to sweat how Im transporting handguns to the range and what not. Thirdly, so I can keep one loaded in the car since I have fair amount of money in my possession from work.

But I carry a Ruger LC9 in a generic ankle holster that I modified to tuck into my Alpinestar riding boots.

I have been shopping around for a IWB holster but just havent pulled the trigger on it yet.

When I first got my CCW I carried a smith and wesson 410 .40. Then I went to a full size 1911 in a desantis in waist band holster. After that I carred an fnp-40 for about a month and didn't like it. Got out of carry for a while because I had to sell my guns. Then I got a glock 19 for a while.

Now I carry a kel-tec pf-9 in a cheap blackhawk holster.

Pretty much anywhere I go my weapon goes with me. I try to carry 24/7 because knowing me the day I don't want to take it is the day i'll need it.

i carry a Glock 27. Before that, i carried it's big brother, my Glock 22. Occasionally I'll carry the G22 if i'm wearing a jacket or going on a road trip, but it's mostly been retired to a house and competition gun. My main holster is the Crossbreed and it's awesome. Very comfortable and the gun is secure. And it's nice leather...unlike the King Tuck which has the plasticy leather. I can wear the G27 and the crossbreed in pants and a T-shirt comfortably and well concealed. The other holster i use is a Galco Ultra Deep Carry...but i usually only use this one to have the gun in a holster and put it in a bag or something. It doesn't sit very well and it makes carrying look like you have a big lump on your hip. Plus it hangs on to your pants, not your belt because it's designed to let you tuck your shirt it, so it slides down and gets your pants and belt and scrunched up and uncomfortable.

I've added these to the G27:

-Extended slide release. I teach and practice the 'sling shot' method, but this mod is great for one-handed operation.
-3.5lb Ghost disconnector
-Grip plug
-Pinky extension magazine buttplate
-Meprolight night sites
-Complete internal polish job
-American flag slide plate

In the summer, when wearing shorts and/or lighter clothes, I carry a Sig P238 in a small Don Hume IWB holster. Most other times, it one of these 2.

Kimber Pro Raptor II in Comp Tac holster or my XD45 Service, I can't remember who made the holster though. I have recently acquire a Crossbreed for the XD, just haven't tried it out yet.

Depends on what I am wearing or if I feel like fooling with the holster or not.

80 percent of the time I carry a gen 4 glock 26 in a galco king tuk, very comfortable and conceals very good.

The other 20 percent I carry a Ruger LCP in a wallet holster.
