Its a good looking gun though. I'm not personally a fan of Springfield 1911s but that's probably because I got spoiled when first shooting with 1911s by trying Nighthawks and Kimbers first lol.

Nice looking gun dude. Get yourself some good magazines for it. Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick power mags, or Tripp cobra mags.

I'd take a Kimber Super Carry Custom over any other 1911 short of a Nighthawk or Ed Brown.

Be careful about CMC magazines, sometimes they sit a little high making them tough on the mag release and harder to insert with the slide forward, the split followers aren't good either. The polymer follow with metal in tripp mags isn't all that great either. I went back to metalforms with pachmayr pads over CMC and tripp. The wilson etm or atm or emp or ent or whatever worked good for me also.

An SA slim magwell and good grips would definitely be som icing on the cake...

I was thinking les baer too. But a heavyweight monolith.

Edit: at that price range though, you can get a 100% custom-built 1911 just perfect for you.

Technically, a Les Baer is built per the customer though.

That's true. And the customer can request special features too. I wonder how far les baer will go with their 1.5" garuntee if the pistol is considerably more custom and using parts from other manufacturers...
