AR guys help me out

Im not looking to build my own id rather buy a new platform and go off it. Im not looking to drop a grand on one. Id like to keep it in the 800 range. What would be a good platform to start with? I know absolutely nothing about AR's so all help will be greatly appreciated.

For less than 800 you are pretty limited. DPMS oracle or a S&W M&P Sport would get my vote.

But I would say spend just a bit more (50 bucks or so) and get a Stag Arms.

i think your best bet would be to find a solid used one. Go to local gun shows, or ask around your friends and family. You can find a decent used plain AR for around $800......

I love all of my ARs. They are a big boy LEGO set.
