can i enable the AUX input on factory stereo?

my car does not have an AUX input, which i thought all Shaker systems did. but i found a pin out for it and there are these signals:

Plug J4
pin/signal
1: AUX AUD 1+
2: AUX AUD 1-
3: AUX AUD 1 Shield
4: AUX AUD Enable <------- (can i enable this?)

does it take a 12v+ signal or something?

if you really want to be able to use the auxillary feature bro then I would just pony up and buy the part. If you try messing with it one of two things is gonna happen
1) you could fry the unit out, and remember that you also have amplifiers that your deck is feeding into and speakers that your amps are feeding into, as well as other things that are connected or have something going through it. IE... dimmer, illumination, etc...

2) you could fry just your deck out which will give you an excuse to buy a new deck.

either way you are gonna have to pay money to do something so why take the chance and mess something up that you dont know what will happen. Especially with electronics, trust me this is where the rule "if something can go wrong it will" comes into play seriously. I understand that you want to mess around with it but just try and look around other forums or places to see if you cant find out if it will work like that or if someone knows a cheap place to go to get something to plug in.

yeah, i'm gonna get a new unit soon, hopefully. but for now i wanted to plug in my iphone. it's not a huge deal though. but it looked like it would be simple to add a stereo jack under the arm rest.

I'm thinking about doing this, because I'm going to sell my mustang in about a year so I don't want to put a new head unit in now.

What do you guys think?

You might be able to have the stealership install it, since its in mine as an option for 07+

Okay cool. My 6 disc cd player crapped out on me and I'm getting rid of the stang in less then a year so I don't want to put to much more money in it.
