Cobra Trunk -vs- Mustang GT Trunk

I need some help.A guy sold me a custom subwoofer box out of the his 1998 Cobra Vert,i have a 2004 Mustang Gt Very,he says they have the same trunk opening but when i tried to put it in i was off a few inches.Does anyone know if they are the same?Thanks..

they are the same, can you get it in the trunk or are you having problems?

A 1998 Vert Cobra and a 2004 GT have different body styles, therefore the trunks are a bit different in terms of the opening. Plus a Vert has a smaller trunk compared to a coupe if I am not mistaken.

They are different. Convertible = way different than coupe.

Plus im thinking the 1998 Body and 2004 body would have different openings. I know the interior of a 98 and 04 are close, but trunk opening not so much.
