Stock Speakers/Aftermarket Amp


Can i use the stock component mach 460 speakers with my aftermarket amp and how would i have to wire them to work? i wont be getting my old speakers shipped from home for a week or two

im not sure if your aftermarket amp will handle the ohm load of the stock speakers

generally most stock speakers run 1-2ohms and most amps run 4 ohms some 2 and i have yet to see a 2ch that is 1ohm stable.

and im not sure you could even wire them to work right i dont think the stock system has a dedicated crossover but im not 100% positive

if the system is amplified they can be anywhere between 1-3ohms, usually 2-3ohms. if they arent then they are usually 4 ohms. ive only seen a handful of cars that are running 1 ohm setups and they are the exotic cars and the sub is the only thing at 1 ohm. most manufacturers will not put that kind of system into a car as it will cost alot of money to make a system, let alone and amp, that can run flawlessly at 1 ohm
