Kicker L7 w/ Hifonics Brutus 1500 watt amp

Hey fellaz,

if you remember i was looking at some sony xplod setups but you guys suggested not to get those.. So i stayed away from all that and im going to pick up my Kicker L7 with a Hifonics Brutus 1500 watt amp today. Got a pretty cool deal, 200 for the actual amp and sub and 65 install including line out converter. Good deal?

Im not knowledgable enough to do it myself so im going to a shop = (... but yea i picked it up rite now that dam box didnt wanna fit in the trunk so we had to take the sub out, slide the box in, and install the sub like that.. had to take my spare out too... gonna have the shop face it towards the back seat so it knocks a little harder.

there you go man much better set up lol, well figure out if the L7 your getting is a dual 4 or dual 2 ohm sub and if the hifonics amp u got is the txi1508 then get the installer to run it at a 2 ohm load if the sub is a dual 4, but if its a dual 2 then thats up to you if you run it at 1 ohm you will be overpowering that sub by a lot but if you run it at 4 ohm you will be underpowering it a good bit, just let us know how it goes, good luck

ah yeah that does sound a bit strange, I mean sometimes its legit that they really do need to charge you more for parts you may need to get the job done, but that does seem wrong especially since he dropped it to 80 when he thought he was going to lose your buisness, but oh well hows it sound

the l7's are actually super good for our cars... on the aiming i used a meter while moving my box around in my trunk and i found are cars resonate best at a 45 degree angle back and to the left.(really odd spot) also if u pull off your rear deck cover the rear window bounces sounds toward the front a good bit.( measured with directional decibal reader) also if u have the option ask the dealer to tune the box to 63hZ i took a flat tuned box and put in my 2001 coupe and a 63hz note definately resonated the most. so matching your box note with your car note should net u some super booming sound

yea those guys are known for doing that kind of BS to their customers but then again i didnt have too much of a choice because all the other shops were chargin at least 100.. so i got it installed and this thing SLAPS!!!.. it was worth the money definitly. total for everything came out to about 275 with install.. i had to take my spare out but now i got a clean look in my trunk plus beat.. and Drew, thanks for the positioning info, ill definitly try that out..

i had the bass to the lowest level and i was setting off alarms in the Wal Mart parking lot (where i work) haha.. kicker l7 FTW!
