I have another question for you... Is there somewhere that I can purchase speaker adapterts for my new speakers? If there is, could you tell me a site or send a link? I need them for the mid bass as well as the tweeters. I cannot make my own because I do not have the material or tools to do so.

here are the 6 1/2 to 6x8 speaker adapter that i was talking about. alot of the component systems come with this in the packaging. as fas as the tweeters are concerned Im not sure if they make one.

Amazon.com: Scosche SA68 Convertible 6x8-Inch Speaker Adapter - Pair: Electronics Amazon.com: Scosche SA68 Convertible 6x8-Inch Speaker Adapter - Pair: Electronics

check this site out as it will give you some insight on how to make the brackets for the speakers as well as the tweeters. just got to get a hold of some ABS plastic. You can go to any audio shop and ask them for a 12x12 piece of ABS plastic as they keep on hand regularly

The problem is... I bought those same speaker adapters, except from a different site. I got them from a site called sonicelectronix.com... here is the link

Scosche SA68 Adapter Brackets Speaker Installation Car Accessories and Installation Car Audio and Video - Sonic Electronix

the problem is that I got them and they did not fit my speakers! I have the 6.5" components and they didnt fit. Here is a link of the speakers that I purchased...

Phoenix Gold RSd 6.5 (RSd6.5) (rsd65) 6-1/2" Speakers Car Speakers Car Audio and Video - Sonic Electronix

it's odd that they do not fit, also you are not in the business of making tweeter adapters right?

im thinking that the basket of your speaker is larger then 5". if this is so then you are gonna have to modify the opening on the bracket to make the speaker fit. i can make you one if you would like, or I can show you how to make it.

to modify the bracket for the subs all you need to do is to make the opening a little bigger you can start by etching a circle around the cutout (a little bit bigger) and you can use a blade or anything to cut through the ABS plastic. now as far as the tweeters are concerned what you can do is get a piece of ABS plastic, take your stock tweeter and trace the outline onto the abs, then cut it out. this is basically just like the sub brackets. next thing is you are going to take the tweeter and trace its outer dimension onto it, cut it out and then take your tweeter and mount into the hole using some hot glue. I know you are thinking "hot glue?" but trust me it works and holds. make sure you use the industrial strength glue as it adheres alot better. I used metal brackets on mine.

also, obviously it wont be that deep so that the tweeter is all in there, i would make it so that is shallow enough that you tweeter is just about touching the 460 grill

if you could make me a bracket for the tweeter that would be great, I don't think I would be able to make it myself and I think you would do a much better job at it. How much will it cost for you to make it and ship it to me?
