I lost my keys!
yeah pretty much my mom borrowed my stang and lost the keys. i have no spare key either. is there anything that i can do to turn it on other than breaking that plastic switch thing and using a screw driver? i know if cop sees my car like that im going to be getting pulled over like a mother(plus it doesnt help that im mexican and due to the hot weather here in so-cal i shaved my head lol). my only plan is to go to the dealer and get a new ignition switch with new keys. any ideas would be very helpful.

Sometimes a dealer can cut you a key with just a VIN number. Call and ask them first.

depending on when u locked it. u can pull the "white plastic box" off fron under your steering collum using a larger HEX driver but ur colum will still be locked unless you twist it and break it off inside. wont be visable damage just your wheel will never lock. dont ask y i know lol NO IT wasnt illegal. i los tm keys too
and i was broke

you guy's are forgetting about the PAT system (factory anti-theft system). you'll need to have a dealer cut the key so the car car be opened & steered, then it'll need towed to the dealer to have the key/key's (good idea to get more than one) programed for the PAT system.

pats isn't by-passable on a 99-04 with out the key's in the first place. it can be disabled thru the computer with the keys though. the reason to get the key's made first is because it make's it a million time's easier to tow.

Breaking into the ignition will not allow you to start the car. The PAT (rfid chip) in the key is required by the computer to enable the ignition system. Towing to the dealer is one option but some lock smiths also have the ability to cut you a key using the VIN number. They may even have the ability to unlock the computer and train it for the new chip in the key. It won't be cheep though. Prevention is always less expensive than the cure. If you had two working keys, you can get the computer into learn mode and teach it about the other keys you bought on eBay for cheep. My two original keys are in my safe. I had copies made for myself and my wife and was able to teach them to the car. Now if one or both are lost, I can replace them for the cost of a blank and a buck to have a lock shop cut them. Next time...
