I heard of people getting the green off, but that would require taking the cluster very far apart. I would have to take the guage face off. I REALLY can't afford to mess up the needles tho. Last time I did anything with a guage face I seriously fucked up my cluster and had to send it to a 3rd party company yo get re calibrated.
I have a V6 cluster here sitting if you want it...You can have it for like 10-15 bucks or something...

So Zatrekaz, how did you get to the bulb?? Like I said I can get all the trim and stuff off around the gear lever, but don't know how to get to lights under the selecition window.

I got the white-faced blue gages from AM. I've got to say I love them soooo much. They look 100% stock, and the blue glow at night is amazing. Also, I love the fact that they have their own dimmer so I can adjust them perfectly.

Next I plan to do blue LED in the center cluster (climate control area) and if you tell me how to get to the gear shifter light I want to do that blue too. Thanks for the tip that it is not too bright. I'll plan on perhpas installing another socket down there to accomidate another LED while I'm down there......If I can EVER figure out how to get in there. Any help please.

And POST SOME PICS at night if you can. I'd love to see. I so love the lighting mods. Nothing like some great lighting while driving at night!

I have not attempted to get to the gear lights. I am acually putting this mod on hold till I get some car shows out of the way and get some more disposable income.

Tell me... How hard was it installing the white face guages? I installed some in my old car and it was a nightmare. The needles got all messed up. I like the night time look of the white face guages... just not the white of them Lol.

Depending on how your install was I may just go ahead and buy the white face guages...

Be as detailed as you can about how you installed them please

I would have to guess it should be just plug and play, but I could be wrong. I have been wanting to do white faced gauges for a long time now.

AM has a write up on how to install white face gauges. Go check it out. It's fairly easy BTW...

I remember on my old car I had to take the needles off, take the old guage face off, and put the new one on and then reinstall the needles. Could never get them back on correcrtly. Had to send the whole guage cluster off to get recalibrated.

AM had a write up, yes. However nothing compares to first hand information.

I wish they had white face guages that were black and lit up red... that would be great. Stock by day, Red glow by night.

True...I've taken the needles off before. I've had my whole cluster dissasembled (recently actually). I just used a snap-on tool, that's used for removing those plastic interior panel clips. Then to put the needle back on I just firmly pressed them straight back down.

Did they report the correct readings afterwards? I just REALLY don't want to fuck up a guage cluster and have to get it fixed again. It cost me $80 to get my old car's fixed....

It was Chevy tho... so no wonder it messed up.

Lefty do you know the name of the tool? It better not be plastic interior panel clip remover.

You take a picture of the needles reading on your car so you know the correct position they should be put back on. If you put your needles back on and you put it in your car and they don't match up to the picture you took, then take em' off and re-adjust them properly. I think they mention something like that in the AM write-up. Lemme find you something else that says that too...

No, I think it's just interior panel clip remover

Seems easy. The Tach can just be digitally matched and the other guages are as simple as taking them off and moving them to the new spot.

My issue with the old car was the MPH and Tach was off. Seems the MPH does not get affected with this guide. HOWEVER this does not include taking the MPH needle off. It is conserned with moving electronic boards.

I worry that my MPH guage will be off and there is no way to correct that really.
