I plan on doing it, just gonna have to wait till I have some extra cash. Rather complete my front bumper first.

I know this project may be on hold for you but check out this site. I was going to go with these before i converted to the LEDs on my gauges. The only prob is that they still require u to remove your needles but atleast this way you can have it exactly how you want them to look.

Sounds like you had too small a bulbs and tried to over power it maybe? There something with LED angle as well.

Last time I did anything with a guage face I seriously fucked up my cluster and had to send it to a 3rd party company yo get re calibrated.
I took the green film off of mine a couple weeks ago. It's not a "pure" white color without the film, but it is better than green for sure. I just took a razor blade and slowly started taking it off carefully. I messed up my needles putting it back together.

The solution I did for the needles was I let the car warm up for a little while so I knew the temp gauge would be at the "normal" position it usually is in, I went and filled my gas tank as much as I could so I knew that would be on full. And VERY carefully with the car running I put the gauges in the "normal" operating places using the "diagnostic mode" for the odometer to get my exact rpm's. Hope I helped a little bit. Hope all works out for you man.

I didnt do anything special. I just replaced the stock bulbs with led bulbs.

There may have been something wrong with the bulbs you purchased.

I put white leds (size 74 T5) behind my gauge cluster and it came out bright. Slight blue-ish tint from the blue film on our clusters. The factory yellow amber incandescent bulb + the blue film on the cluster= the green light we see stock.
White leds + blue film on the cluster= blue-ish color.
