iPod to Car Stereo Adapter

What kind of adapter do I need for my 2006 Ford Mustang Convertible V6 with a Shaker 500 system.

I want to be able to control my iPod through the Stereo Controls, I want the iPod to stay charged.

Please link me with some adapters!

I'm still considering the head unit, but I'm also looking at alternatives becasue the head units I'm looking at are too much money right now.

I know, I don't have steering wheel controls. And how do the FM transmitters work? I have no idea...Does it charge the iPod? Can I use the stereo controls, or do I have to control it from the iPod?

somewhat, its staticy just like a normal radio station. i guess it depends on the quality of the transmitter. if you have at&t or t-mobile you could get interference from your phone, at least in my friends car that happens.

go with an interface. you'll pay a little bit more money but worth it in my opinion. the transmitters only work well for so long.
