Autometer oil press. gauge problem
Has anyone seen a gauge do this?
The weirdest part is that it seems to be related to the throttle... That is to say, if I am coasting and not giving it any gas, then the gauge reads fine and doesn't jump around. But the moment I give it some gas, it does what you see in the vid. bounces all over the place! The more gas, the more it does it. Any clue as to wtf is going on? I checked my connections and grounds as best I could. I got under the car and checked the conenction at the sender and it seems fine too. Thanks |

Yes... It happens when the connection at the sending unit, or the ground in the gauge is bad or weak... I had that happen in my race car on ALL my gauges... turns out the sending units had the wires come loose.. solid motor mounts and a nasty cam cause everything to come loose....
