dangerous need to fix quick
i was doing abut 65 last night on a back road and my head lights shut off on me and flickered all the way home is there a transister on the wiring or do i just need a new switch but i need to fix this fast so plz help i have a 2000 mustang v6 for neone needing that info

Check the fuse first, and then go to the wires, etc.

checked the fuses and well wires looked ok but that take much more inspection ne other ideas cuz it really sucks to lose all your light

i was afraid you were going to say that i was just thinking that might be it i have been told that it is the light switch which works like a transistor and that is what it is acting like but i'm going to check it all over besides i have to runa tune up this weekend

mine like to dim when ever my rad fan first kicks in but then they snap back to bright is this normal? sorry to thread hijack but i don't want this to turn into the thread starters problem.

My ford pickup did the same thing....I just replaced the switch and that fixed it....

On my 86 the same thing happend to me, I replaced the switch & fixed the problem, if it is the alternator the lights would slowly dim & then go out... the switch is shutting down & thats the reason for no lights...
