Well then that makes this all much easier. Thank you so much for all your help wrath. You're like my god now

PS I've got the LED strips ordered and once I measure the opening for the cigarette lighter I'll hopefully be ordering that switch

Not a problem. Now before your GOD

you can get those switches from your local auto parts store so you dont have to worry about shipping and what not. You can even get them at Wal-mart. Let me know on here or PM if when you start installing you run into anything or have more questions.

Ok I looked into the size of a cigarette lighter (for American made vehicles) and it says they're usually .816" to .822". The switch I'm looking at (pictured) is just about .75". Any ideas on how to fill the gap so it sits in there nicely and won't be popping out when I go over bumps?

you can take the whole panel out and then try and center the button in the whole while filling the edges with some hot glue. it would be better if your interior was black as they have black glue sticks.

sorry to thread jack, but I am looking to do this same thing to my car. I want a LED strip under each side of the dash...My question is, I noticed that there is an empty button next to the traction control button behind the shifter on my 2004 V6... I was wondering do they sell any kind of a switch, or a button so I can control the LED's with this empty button that is there doing nothing, with it still looking stock in that same location?

I think there's someone trying to work their fog lights into that same switch but isn't having much luck. Look for one of the fog light threads in the V6 area.

old thread i know but i just ordered some warm white leds and was hoping to find out where i should connect them if i want them to only come on when the map lights (convert) are on

reading i think there are three wires that run through the passengers a-piller but is there another location i could tap into under the drivers foot well

also would a 3 amp fuse be good for 2 six inch flexible strips from Oznium - they say one foot draws 80 milliamps

Thanks
Steve
