Gauge error

Hey everyone, im new here and I have a question. I have a 2001 V6 Mustang and the oil psi gauge is starting to messup. When I start my car, sometimes the gauge never moves until about 5 mins later, other times it works fine. Is there something wrong with it or is it just a bad connection?

ok, put the key in the ignition, press and hold the trip button, then turn the key to the acc possition and start the car at this point you should still be holding the trip button wait for it to say gaug then let it go fast. check through the codes and other cool stuff there by pressing the button once. write down every thing and come post it back here and i will try to help you from there.
