Courtesy light problem...

The courtesy light in my car doesn't work right. It stays on even after i shut the doors and won't turn off no matter what i do. For right now i just keep the bulb out of the car so my battery doesn't drain itself. does anyone know how to fix this...thanks for anything you say.

There's a switch that gets depressed when the doors are shut, you can check to see if any of those are maybe bad or stuck. The headlight switch can turn it on too, maybe you've got the knob turned all the way over or it's bad.

I have a 2004 V6 Convertible- with the same problem. Have you had any luck with a fix? Right now I have unplugged the supply wire fed from the rear view mirror.

My 2004 Mach 1 had numerous problems with the interior light. In my case it just plain didnt work. Took it in twice to service for this problem. The wiring was bad. On the second try it was fixed correctly.

check you head light knob and make sure it isn't turned to the point that the interior light is on.
