Installing a Pioneer AVIC X910BT

Hello all, I’m installing a new double din DVD player (Pioneer AVIC X910BT) this week into my 05 vert. I have purchased a PAC wiring harness and a mounting bracket. Are there any surprises that I should watch out for? Will the PAC harness eliminate the amp pop that I’m hearing about? I will need to install a receiver for the GPS. Where should I mount the GPS antenna? Also, this unit has a mic for handsfree phone usage. I was thinking of installing the mic in the maplight console facing forward. Would this be a good place for the mic or should it be directly in front of me like on the visor?

you really dont need that pac adapter but since you already have it dont worry about it. Some radio's will get the pop and some wont. If you do I have a sticky in here about how to get rid of it and others have done it. As far as the mic goes, you generally want to have it directly in front of you as to avoid and disturbances. the place that I always put it is on the carpeted headliner board. It should come with a clip and just clip it up there.

I don't need the PAC harness?? That sucks as it wasn't cheap. My understanding is that I needed it so the deck would work properly with the rest of my shaker system.
I was kind of expecting that I would need to put the mic right in front of me. I was hoping that I could hide it a bit better but oh well. Thanks for the input wraitherx!
