Dash lights

Hey I was wondering if you can change the dash lights like instead of trying to find the right bulb. I've read something about LEDs changing the color but I dont know much.. do you guys think it possible for me to just take it out and paint it my color of choice. Or is that not safe or something. Basically at night I hate looking at the green background on everything at nite and I want to change it to blue..any suggestions

you'll need to get a different colored bulb or new gauges.

red, blue and any other emergency color is illegal

What!!!!! so your saying changing the color is illegal...thats crazy well how will the cops know lol that my car didnt come with those colors

even if its for things inside the car?? like a cop could give me a ticket if i had ac display that shown red instead of green if he wanted???

no color change is ok as long as it isn't used on an emergency vehicle like red, and blue. And yes the cop probably would give you a ticket. Your not allowed an emergency colored light anywhere on a non emergency vehicle.

the new stangs you can change the color of the gauges. red blue or w/e you want.

i think it has to light up the interior to become illegal
such as a distraction. i dont; think the guages matter

well i know my friend got a ticket for blue gauges in his 01 mustang so i am just going off experience.

I think the cop was bein a dick because blue is used in reverse glow guages. Thats what I have.

yeah those are the gauges he has, but the ticket went through so it is apparently illegal and my neighbor got pulled for the blue glow from his dvd screen might just be an NC thing.

Wowwww that is very press to get ticket for DVD screen.. I hope I dont get pulled over I just had lights installed under my dash and seats hopefully not lol but they are pretty bright when I hit the switch

thats rough.... pretty sure it can be disputed cause i know my cd deck gives off a blue light lol.. and alot more do too.. which in turns makes me think the cop was being a dick. let alone i would fight that till the end

just leave them off unless your car is parked then you can turn them on.
