Power Lock Is Sticking...

Hey guys, Mustang newb here. Just recently purchased a 2002 GT, loving it so far.

However, a rather annoying flaw the car has is the drivers side power-lock "sticks"; When I use the keyless entry, sometimes the door will lock/unlock, sometimes it wont at all. Its not a huge problem (I just lock it manually when I exit the vechicle). Still though I wanna get it fixed.

I figured the lock has some rust/gunk in it, so I considered just taking off the interior door panel and spraying some WD-40 on the lock.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

you sure your battery in the keyless entry isn't going dead?

Hmmm. Haven't considered that. The passenger door lock has no problems, so I didn't assume it was the battery. But I'll I check that as well!

Usually the passenger side unlocks on the second push so it might just be a low battery that only sometimes sends the signal but I would try that before spending the time taking th door apart which isn't hard if that is the problem.

Well, tried both the the spare keyless entry switch, but still the lock still sticks. Maybe both the main and the spare units have dead batteries...I'll check it out tomorrow.

Well that might not be it was just something good to try before ripping your door apart your motor for your locks might be going bad or like you said it could just be gunked up, just remember start with the cheapest options and go up in price till it is fixed lol.
