radio

Hello,

i have an 04 mustang with the mach sound system (which blows ass).

what i want to do is keep the stock head unit and speakers all working but i want to add a sub in the trunk.

Is there a way to go about doing this without destroying the way my system is setup now, i looked around for a wiring harness or anything that might help but there is nothing.

any help would be great

thanks
cory

You will need some kind of factory OEM integration processor like this SLD 44

http://www.phoenixgold.com/2004/linedrivers.html

Manual.

ftp://208.187.38.55/Phoenix_Gold/Man...D44_Manual.pdf

There are other brands, but I know this one is going pretty cheap right now.

It taps into the speaker wires and then you can send an RCA out to amp for sub.

No you won't, as you are only tapping into them. You can find some "t-taps" at a local automotive or hardware store. Look in the electronics dept. You just clamp into the already existing wire and send a new set of wires to the SLD 44 (or whichever processor you decide to use).

in the trunk in the middle of the amps you should see wire coming out, look for 2 BLACK/WHITE wires and 2 BLACK wires. The BLACK/WHITE wires are possitive and the BLACK wire are negative. It doesnt matter just hook up the WHITE and GRAY wire to the each one of the BLACK/WHITE wires and hook up the WHITE/BLACK and GRAY/BLACK wire to each of the BLACK wires and you should be good. Let me know if you need anything else.

Like AVICJR said just go to any audio shop and get a line out converter and then just tap them in, strip the protective sleeve around the wire back and then take something and poke a hole through the wire then you take the line out converter that you baught and tap the solid colored wires into the BLACK/WHITE wire that is stated above and then the striped wires from the line out converter and put those through the BLACK wires, fold those wires around the wires that you stripped back and then tape them up and then you are good to go.

great thanks for the info, i actually found a decent amp that has a high line in so if all goes well i can just patch it in that way and forget about the line driver.

It may also be labeled as the power antenna wire. It's blue or blue with white stripe.
