SOMEONE HELP..... Video camera action

Hey everyone.... I have a video camera. Sony CCD-TRV68. Just a video camera i got 2 yrs ago maybe. Has the flip screen pretty neat. I love it...... Well a lil while back i asked MD about uploading.... I bought a firewire. Well turns out there isnt anyplace on this piece of shit to put the cable into to upload it to my friggen computer.

SO... i go to bestbuy and i start talking to this dude, tells me i need a editing program, and a new camera. I work for a dealership so i know i dont need a new car. Understand buddy. He starts talking about how fucking cool these harddrive cameras are and i told him i dont wanna spend 800 bucks for a fucking camera. I just wanna upload from the one i have..... I guess i could spend 300 on a half decent one ? I dunno...

So i go Ebay"ing. Are the ones on ebay any good..... am i gonna get ripped off ?

Im so pissed off right now i wanted to punch the best buy guy right in the face. Stop trying to sell me new just answer my question... Can i upload from this one or not. If i cant, then i will invest in a new. Nothing wrong with mine though... so i would like to keep it. ?
Thanks everone

Casper

If you've got RCA outputs you can get it to your CPU, I have a Pinnacle Studio converter that sends the RCA inputs through a USB port to the editing software... I picked up at Sears for like $40 a couple years ago.

Joe, i have a cable that plugs into my camera, and it has a yellow and white hookup. So im guessing i have it. Because thats how i put it on my TV to watch it. Its like a wire with white and yellow and then it goes into one black ( headphone looking jack) and it goes into my camera.

Thats all i got ..... Can you find that converter thing online ?

Got it dude! Your gonna want to get a splicer as well if you only have mono out (only red and yellow outputs - no white). Otherwise you will only be able to get one speaker to play when you hook it up. Radio shack can get you one in stock for a couple bucks. You'll need a female in and two males out.

Can i use that ? They have Dazzle 85 and 90. 90 costs more but maybe its better. Either way i could get either of them because it looks like this is my last resort to putting vid online. haha.

Not sure what you mean by the splicer. There are no outputs on the camera itself. But you have to put the single line jack in the camera. Then it splits off into a white and yellow jack. ??

I have a TRV140 and it has the 1394 output for fire wire. You can pick them up for about $250 or so.

Yea that'll work, it's just a newer model (as I mentioned I bought mine a couple years ago). Your line jack is fine, on yours yellow is the video output and white is the audio output. The Dazzle has left and right audio inputs, and since you only have 1 output your going to need to split it into two outputs or else you will only be running sound through one speaker when you get the video on your cpu.
