Having an electrical problem with 99 mustang

I recently got a hold of a 1999 V6 Mustang Coupe(pretty much barebones, has a package called the smokers package, and the fin on the trunk).
Anyways it has a few problems in the electrical department. From what I can tell somebody broke the driver side panel and then just screwed it back(pretty bad job too). Anyways the driver window does not function. So I would guess the person that owned it before me tried to fix it maybe and gave up. Also the windshield wipers keep turning on at random times. And the(forgive me for not being technical) the display bar that is under the speedometer does not function as well. I think it displays the out of gas, not wearing seatbelt, cruise control, and so forth.

Now I got the car cheap so I really don't mind taking it to a repair shop and having them fix it, but I thought I'd ask if anyone here knows something and it turns out its a simple fix, that even someone as un-car knowledgeable can do. And if the only recommendation i get is take it to a shop thats fine.

for you window it could just be your window switch, try replacing that you can find them cheap on ebay of even 50resto. As far as your windshield wipers try replacing your relay for them cause what could be happening is that your relay is kind of shot and sometimes the switch inside whenever you hit a bump or something switches over to power it on. and the "display bar" underneath, when you turn your car to the on position without it running do you see and of them lit up at all?

Alright thanks for the tip on the window.

For the wiper relay. how do i check whether it is faulty or not?
Also I don't see a legend telling me which relay controls what, I have three. (Two are bigger then the third). Looking at the fuse box from the drivers side I have 5 relay slots and the one closest and furthest from the side panel are empty. So it goes slot, big relay, big relay, smaller relay, and slot.

As for the "display bar" it seems to be working now. Their was allot of deposit on the negative terminal of the battery. I cleaned it off with baking soda because it was having slight problems getting started and I was told that because of the deposit it wasn't getting a good enough connection, giving me the starting problems. Could that have had any effect on the rest of the electrical system as well?(Thinking about it I would say it would) The battery is still the original factory battery, so should I go ahead and replace it if it still works, but I would think a 9 year old battery might cause problems, I wouldn't know whether it would or not(the battery meter says its good, but I don't trust those things)

if your battery reads around 12 volts when off and then around 13 to 14 volts when the car is running then your battery is still good, when it jumps from 12 to 13 or 14 then that means that your alternator is putting out to the battery. Best thing to do is to take a brillo pad or even a wire brush to the battery posts and post clamps and clean them really well and then take a little bit of petroleum jelly and lightly coat the terminals to prevent them from building up. what year is your car? also check your manual to see where the relay is located. Best way to check it out is to find the relay and have someone turn it on while you listen to it click. or just replace it all together. should cost no more then like 10 at any auto store.
