1995 Mustang GT stock amplifier location?

As you can guess... I have a 95 GT. Stock stereo, not a mach (IE no subs) but according to specs, there is an amplifier to drive the stock speakers. My new head unit is more powerful, so i am bypassing it.

The way I see it, I am jumping the amp out of the circuit anyways, and thats a lot of extra weight hanging around. Right now, I just want to know where its at so i can make sure my wiring is all right. Anyone done this install, and willing to help me out?

is your stock stereo simply the "Cassette" deck? because if so, I dont think there is an amp anywhere. Are you certain there is an amp because most likely it is just the head unit that is driving the speakers. Or do you also have the Cd player on the bottom and casette deck on top?

I actually ended up sorting it out... just some misinformation from crutchfield, which they corrected and sent out the appropriate wire harness for me, rush delivery, had it the next day. love that place.
