15" sub into spare tire of an 1989 mustang

I need some help. I currently have a 15" volfenhag subwoofer and a 1200watt amp that I would like to enclose into my spare tire compartment and make it look like it came there from the factory. I would like to be able to lay the carpet over it and cut out a hole for the sub to come through. I have seen some articles on here about it, but I need some help on getting started and what I need to fiberglass etc. I also would like to see pictures of some of you that have done it. Thank you.

PM me if you need instructions- or better yet, I can post in this thread how to do it. Joe also did this to his trunk, and I will have to look for my pictures. I am off to work now, so I will get back to this thread tonight. Just PM me to remind me or I may forget.

First off there is no way a 15 would sound worth a damn in the wheel well! One,most 15 inch woofers are too deep.Second there is not a subwoofer I can even imagine that would take that little of air space even if it would fit into such a shallow spot.
I built a box in my 87 GT that went under the spot where the window stops on the hatch. It extended from side to side and filled from where the window stopped all the way back(like 10 inches deep i think).I wrapped it with carpet that looked like the factory color and it looked damn near stock. Most people didn't notice it was there till I turned the stereo on.

Atlanticblue99,u got 2 10 inchers in the wheel well dont ya? Did you plug up all the holes in the bottom of the hole? Or did ya just lay a piece of wood over it,slap some fiberglass on it and cut holes? It looks sweet either way though! You'd get almost twice the out put if you fiberglassed the bottom too and then glassed the top,and it'd be cleaner bass.

No i'm not tryin to piss ppl off tonite just giving knowledge thats all.I'll apologize in advance though just in case!
