fog light problem

I bought an aftermarket halogen foglight kit. It came with everything needed (wireing, lights etc.) and I added nothing to it. I installed it very carefully becuase I am not comfotable messing with electrical in the first place. I followed the directings exactly and everything turned out fine. They have worked perfectly for about a month.

Yesterday, I accidently touched the backside of the switch housing when I was turning them off. It was hot as hell. So I looked at the back of the switch and the 3 wires were "fused" together. Obviously, they didnt fuse all the way through but they are all stuck together now from heat. The outside of the wire covers look burnt or kind of black like they were about to start on fire. I checked out the rest of the wires from the lights back and there is no other damage. Again, all the hardware came with the lights so I know I'm using the right guage wire and stuff. This makes me wonder if the kit came with undersized wire. Is this common? Do you think I need to rewire the whole thing? I was told that maybe just replacing the switch with a higher rated amperage would help. That doesnt make sense to me but like I said, I'm NOT an electrician.

Any advice would be very appreciated.

you need to buy a wire upgrade kit from Ford.
sounds like you ran too hot of a bulb and you melted your harness.

It sucks becuase everything came in a box ready to install. It took alot of time for me to instal which is frustrating. so what you're saying is the morons who made this aftermarket light are selling it with undersized wires??? what a bunch assholes.
