factory gauges?

is there a way i can test my temp sender to see if its working? my gas gauge reads full all the time, the oil pressure works "OK", the volts gauge reads 9 or less(i tested it, its 12+ at the fuses), and the temp doesn't move at all!

no, theres a 160 in it. i changed the temp unit and its fine now. i also changed the oil press sending unit and that works, the new gas tank w/sending unit and that works. the only thing that still won't work right is the volts!

test

I have heard that you can test it by taking the wire off of the sending unit and placing a resistor, 100ohm or 200 ohm and then grounding the end to the block. You should be able to see a significant difference between grounded with a resistor, and without. As for the fuel gauge, I am going to bet your fuel sending unit is bad, about $116 at autozone. on the fox, the fuel pump and the fuel sending unit are seperate, but they both go into the fuel tank. I am getting ready to replace mine, I have done it on a few Fords in my time........... The old F150 pickup
