Subwoofer Boxes

Hey guys, I am putting a system into my 1998 V6 mustang. The only hang up I have is the box. I am stuck between building one or buying one off ebay. I ordered 2 Kicker Comp VR 12s and I was wondering does anyone have 12 inch subwoofers in their mustang, and if so, what are the dimensions of your box. I found out the hard way that the mustang has a small trunk and I want to make sure the box will fit before i buy one. Thanks a lot.

The easiest way to put a box in, IMO is to disassemble the back seat, and put the box in through there. It gives you more width and height for clearance. My box is 14" tall.

I have a box that was made for my kicker comp vr 12's by kicker. When I get home this evening I will measure it out for you. Just note that each sub is eclosed from the other sub. Go to kicker's website and get the recommended airspace for the subs.

The reason I didn't post the size is because every sub performs optimally in a different internal volume enclosure usually calculated in cubic feet. I have one sub in a 1.8 cu. ft enclosure, outer dimensions=14"x21.5"x14". I added the size of my box for reference. Again, find a box that is no taller (height) than 14 inches and you should be good.
