has anyone ditched the stock grilles and made custom fiberglass or steel covers then mounted the speaker on top of them??? mine are all busted and i want to but 6x9's in there anyway.

they wont fit. i put in type r 5x7s and i had to cut out the rear seat bracket to make it fit. then again it depends on the mustang.....my bad.but i think if u found a way yo bend clear fiberglass in the same shape and drilled hloes in it in a circular pattern it would look pretty cool.

yeah i was under the impresion they would then i just held 6x9's up to the stock grilles and knew they wouldnt.
yeah that clear fiberglass would look pretty trick.

but i have another question. i guess my car has the premium sound pakage with 6 speakers. is there a crossover for the dash speakers(the tweters)??
i made the mistake of hooking up the tweeters to the deck and it sounds like hell. the roght side works fine but they hacked the left side wiring so idk what to do.
