Need Help With Sub Box

I have two 12" Kicker CVR's which in a sealed box I can get in through the trunk. However, I would like more output than that so I'm looking to get a ported box in there. I'm having a hell of a time doing that so I was wondering if any of you have had any luck getting a dual 12 ported box in the back of a 95 Mustang. I don't have a convertible either

take out your spare and the carpet.

that should give you enough room to slide the box in.

once the box is in open the back seat up and tilt the box halfway through it and slide the tire and carpet back in..

Ya, I went to a shop today and they tried to put a huge box through the rear and I knew it wouldn't work that way. They didn't seem interested at all about going through the trunk after removing the tire. That really does open up some space.

Dude, I only wish I knew how. But with all the math behind it and all that, I'd have no idea what I'm doing.

I appreciate that. I'm talking to a installer who is huge out our way here in BC Canada, and he's saying that he could build me a ported box that would fit, but it wouldn't maximize the potential at all. He's suggesting that I go with one sub and he's saying that it would do more than my two in a sealed.

I found a couple vented boxes that may work. I may have to go two single 12's vented which matters none to me. I'll let you know for tomorrow.

That installer is right.. it would be better to have one sub in the right box than 2 in the wrong box.. A sub in the proper box will do more work more effeciently than 2 subs in the wrong dimension box.. I think you can get those two subs in there in a ported box though.. the box might have to be either a different shape or actually assembled in the car.

I actually got two Single 12 ported boxes made to specs for the subs and they fit. That installer was just trying to break my balls. It actually is a cool set up too. Much better than anything I could've asked for.

yea many times but all the same result as you... no room. If you want the sound to make it through all the extra stuff when the top is down especially. you pretty much have to sacrifice a lot trunk space. Kicker, Pioneer and I'm sure a few other brands make flat subs now that don't require much airspace, maybe those might be the ticket for you.

my subs only needs about 6-8 inches of clearance from the woofer. I've been thinking about two indivdual boxes, but i don't know
