rear speakers

hey i've got some kickers in the back for my rear speakers and they're hooked up to my alpine deck. they rattle the metal that holds them sometimes when they get to loud. the quality of the music is still perfectly fine so its not like i'm gonna blow it out. it just rattles that metal piece that holds it. anyone know how to fix this?

I'm going to suggest Dynamat...

it's a sound dampening material that you install in your car to supress vibrations. it also kinda soundproofs your car, blocks out exterior road noise, so you hear more music and less outside crap.

you can get big sheets of it to put in your whole trunk, on your doors or in the flooring, but they also sell little packs of it just for individual speakers, which is probably what you would need for your rear speakers.

turn up the music, pop the trunk & press firmly on the metal mount in the middle & u can make it stop. it rattles because that large metal piece is flimsy. the dynamat wont stop the rattling.

im going to try to fix that by adding material to that piece to firm it up. i.e a wooden bracket or something.

but lately i havent had that problem. just turn down the volume.

could you be more specific about what "metal mount" your talking about?
I have a piece of wood (i think) that goes over the spare tire compartment that's loose in my trunk, not sure what you mean by something metal.

EDIT: oh, nevermind, I think i know what you mean. I forgot we were talking about rear speakers, I was thinking of a sub. my bad lol
