when you say "with the amp", did you mean you want to run the subs from the headunit's built in amp?

you're gonna need a seperate amp just for the subs...in case that is what you meant.

I'm by no means a pro on the subject but I'll try to explain a whole setup to you and someone else can come correct me if i'm wrong...

well basically you're gonna need a bunch of cables, RCAs (at LEAST 17 feet, i'd go with more though just for a bit more slack) some power cables to bring power to your amp, 8 gauge or so, maybe like 25 feet long cus it's gonna have to go to your battery. then you'll also you'll need just a regular speaker wire for the remote turn on for the amp, same length as the RCAs, and then also another nice thick cable to ground the amp, you want this one to be as short as possible. It'll be going from where your amp is to the closest bare metal surface, such as your trunk floor, so it doesn't need to be long at all.

before you do anything, disconnect your battery.
so first for power, you're gonna want to run the power cables from your battery to the amp. as i understand it, you also need to have a fuse along that cable, close to your battery. now I'm not sure how exactly you run the cable through the firewall to bring it to the inside of the car from the engine bay, but I'm pretty sure there's existing holes in it for other wires, just need to find them. you're gonna want to run the cable under your dash, behind the kick panel and under the door sill. you can just pop that right out, might need a flat screw driver to help you along. just bring it all the way to trunk, it might make it easier to take out your backseat but apparently you don't need to...i would personally just take it out to make it easier on yourself. you connect that to the power terminal on your amp.

then you got your remote turn on that you wanna run from the head unit to your amp. your HU should already have a blue wire on the back of it, just tap into that wire, and run it like you did the power cables. connect that to your amp's REM.

to ground your amp, just put a short cable from your amp's ground (-) terminal, find a spot on your trunk floor and scrape it down to the metal to remove the paint, and bolt your cable to that spot with a ring connector.

now for the RCA's, you just run them from the RCA outputs on the back of your HU to the inputs on your amp, in the same fashion as the other cables, but you'd wanna do that on the other side. you don't want the RCA's and power cables to touch because then you could get engine noise. I was dumb and put them all on the same side, but i still haven't heard engine noise so whatever, but it's what they say.

like i said, i might be wrong about some of this stuff...so i'm hoping someone's gonna come and make sure i'm not full of shit.

Well written Murder.

As to finding a hole in the firewall. You can buy a hole punch tool for relatively cheap. It's a hollow shaft with a pointed end, and a handle with a hole on the end of it. You can typically find an existing grommet in the firewall, make sure you wan't hit any existing wires, and then drive the punch tool through the grommet. Feed your wires through the hollow shaft, and voila', you have your wires fed through the firewall.

make sure you go thru the grommet, you dont want the cable touching any bare sharp metal spots like that, it could cut thru and short the entire electrical system
