Good Deal?

i am buying a pair of jensen 10" subs and an amp that puts out 550 watts i forget the brand name though.....he is selling them to me at 230 dollars is this a good deal?

I don't have anything good to say about Jensen... so I'll let someone else comment on this one, if they'd like. As for the amp, find out what brand.

Ummm.... may be less than what they cost new but Jensen is pretty crappy stuff.

whats wrong with them are they just not very reliable or do they die quickly or somethin......or do they just not put out very much power??

they are a cheap brand, poorly manufactured. Your probably going to end up not happy with them. If you'd heard them and you like them, go for it. If it was me and my money, I'd buy something with a better rep.

Cool man, if you dig em, you dig em. Everyone has their own taste in subs and amps.

I'd check out walmart or some places online and see what the subs cost new, and same with the amp... you might be able to put the same package together cheaper. I saw some jensen 10s in a bandpass box on ebay for like 50 bucks.

Jensen=Wal Mart

That is the brand wal mart carries. I have jensen speakers in my bronco because well, I don't cruise in it and the radio was free so I needed some speakers and got those for 20 bucks. Other than that they are about the crappiest speakers I have ever heard.

They are all generally garbage...Not worth the time or money...Save up and get a good sub...Solobarics rock...

The best bang for the buck would be audiobahn. they have rediculous SPL they lack in SQL however. Jensen for amps or subs are major suckage. however not everything.

Well Jensen aint THAT bad as opposed to lets say "spark-o-matic"or "roadmaster" but if you an audiophile like me Jensen wont make the grade.But if you looking for dependability on a low power system jensen will last for years and years.Just dont put them near thier limits cause they will pop.Really though for $300 bucks you could buy the following and end up with better results if you can measure ,cut a straight line,and use a caulk gun:
2 Rockford Fosgate RF series 10'' subs $100
1 Sheet 3/4'' MDF plywood $22
1 Rockford Fosgate 200.2 amp(Best Buy) $120
1 Tube clear silicon $5
1 Amp wiring kit(4 guage power wire Wal Mart Scosche)$50
1 Roll 10 guage power wire (Wal Mart Scosche) $20

If you wanna go this way e-mail me with the dimensions and pics of your trunk and i'll design a box that will work gr8 in you trunk and send you plans on how to build it.
