Speakers

Anybody ever swap out the speakers in the Mach Audio system? not the 1000 but I guess it's the 460. The guy at Best Buy told me I'd have to replace a lot of shit to replace the speaker, I thought that was kinda of odd but figured I'd ask somebody else that may have done it before... so let me know... also are the speakers in the door 6x8's?

its not worth it man. You have to replace the factory amps with aftermarket amps, and you have to replace the head unit with an aftermarket one. Its unnessary lol.

well if you want to replace just the speakers then go to Crutchfield.com

They got the speakers that are available for our cars...since ours is component. Just dont get speakers that require high amps to operate. Then buy a the speaker wires required to hook up to Ford's single plug style.

Well i cant really say which ones are the best since your still gonna use factory amps but i would suggest these, just because it's one of the only ones that fit factory specs and it's component. Also JBL is very Reputable.

But go from there with the link provided...Crutchfield has tons of options so just search around.

I can't comment on what fits or not in our cars, but I put an Infinity Kappa system with a Pioneer head unit in my Caprice and it sounded fantastic.

Understand, this is a fairly accurate sounding system so if you are looking for boom boom boom, I would advise against Infinity not that they won't give you the lows, they will, but they won't artificially give you lows when the music doesn't have them.

FWIW I listen to Jazz and 70's pop.

Yea but don't the stock speakers have a weird impedence or the amps require a weird load impedence?

Standard is either 8 or 4 ohms, I thought I read somewhere that the Mach systems run on 2 ohms impedence or something like that?

Please correct me if I am off tune with this one??
