Mach 460 CD player

So I need some help here. I have a 2001 V6 with the Mach 460 6-disk player. I think it's dying but I want to try to fix it if I can. When I try to play or eject a CD the display says CD Err. When it was working, you could hear what I assume is an arm or something of that nature moving inside to move to the slot I wanted it to. I don't hear anything anymore. Also, more recently, when I start my car the radio takes probably 30 seconds or more to turn on. The radio issue doesn't happen every time but the CD player hasn't worked for weeks. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

welcome to the forums.

disconnect your negative battery terminal for 30 seconds.

put it back on and it will trip the stereo.

this is only a temp fix.

you will need to replace the unit shortly.

Thanks, I will try that after work today. I know I'm going to sound crazy but I really like the stock head unit. I don't want to replace it but looks like one of these days I will have to.

you can find stock units on ebay fairly cheap.

I like my stock unit as well.
I didn't feel the need to replace it.
