PROBLEM...NEED HELP ASAP
well i'm taking a few pieces out of the stang to get ready to trade it in...i was cutting a wire from the glow gauges i had installed and when i cut one of the wires my radio, windsheild wiper control and spray, and my dome light quit working...everything else is fine. i'm guessing it's a blown fuse. where should i start looking...it's supposed to rain this weekend so i need to fix this asap.
please help guys |

Are you positive you haven't accidentally cut another wire, or squished a power wire for one of those things up against a ground wire, and shorted something out, or as you said, blown a fuse?
To test the fuses, find your fuse (check your owners manual for locations and fuse numbers), and check the fuse visually. Also, just because the fuse may look good physically, does not mean it may not be bad. In that case check the fuse for continuity using a meter. |

Another easy way is to check the fuse for voltage while the fuse is still in the holder in the fuse panel. Just set the meter to check for voltage, and then check each side of the fuse. If there is no voltage at one side of the fuse, the fuse is bad.

Set your meter to check for volts. The car is 12 volts, so you should get roughly 12 volts on the meter when you check each end of the fuse, while the fuse is in the holder. Just stick the pointy probe in each end of the fuse one side at a time and read the mter. It should say 12 volts at both sides.
