I installed my subs a while back and never really understood the concept of ohm's right now I have the subs wired at 2 ohms. If I wire them for 4 would that make them hit the bass harder?

Nope. I'm no expert, but think of it like this: ohm's is the load put on an amplifier. The lower the number, the higher the load, and the greater the output. Just make sure you don't overload your amp. Read your manual to see what it is rated at.
