Electronics Question

Ok, i want to hook up some components in my car... CB, Radar detector, and a scanner... but i want them wired in where they come on with the car, and off with the car. I have my Cb wired into the remote wire for my amp, which works, but i get feedback through the speakers, and it makes my CB not transmit correctly. Where is there a relatively accessible wire or hot lead that i can tap into, so i can get juice? Fusebox? My ford dealership said to tap into where the keyswitch is... and i found the wire, but its nearly impossible to splice into it. Is there another place inside or outside the car?

you should be able to go off one side of the ignition or out of the fuse box is what I would do. but as far as your feed back that sounds like a ground problem....Why do you need a cb in your car anyway? lol

Well, i figure between the CB, radar detector and scanner, i wont get any more tickets. around 20 other boys in the high school have CB's.. so its like a buddy system... i play Bandit lol, i jumped my car up a little hill and got the name, so i figure id set it all in motion by puttin a antenna on the back... so there it is lol.

Off one side of the ignition... do you mean the ignition switch? id rather not go off of it. And the fuse box.... where at on the fuse box?

Well if they got a HH Radar, where they turn on the radar with a trigger, your scanner is useless. (if you didnt know that) thats how i got screwed when i was going 50 in a 30.

well, if i get the scanner, and they do clock me and i hear them after me.. i may have a chance to hide somewhere, between the scanner, and the radar detector, and my CB... that should keep my chances of a ticket down.

can anyone tell me where an easily accessable remote hot wire is? Id like to put my fog lights on it, my CB,scanner, and radar detector on it. I would say 25 amps would work... i can always throw in a bigger fuse. Even if i cant do that, i can rig up a little circuit to make a set of contacts hit so i can make my own breaker...

Pretty sure if you get caught with a scanner in your car it's a pretty big fine.. atleast in MO it is. CB's haha I figured with cel phones those things didn't exist anymore. I'd look into running off your radio fuse...

look for your 12v fuse in the fuse box you can usually tap into that. a much safer way would be to run one wire out of the fuse box to a switch with a live wire from the battery and a ground then you can turn it on and off whenever you and wont blow fuses.

lol.. this is down south... everyone has a CB in their vehicle, and rich rednecks have scanners. Tap into my 12v fuse how? wrap a wire around the fuse lead or something? pictures would REALLY help. I could always tap into the radio wire... and i dont want to use a switch.. i want stuff to come on and go off with the car... i have bad memory and sometimes forget to turn things off...

Ok first off you can not beat Lidar ( laser ) second the statement down south we all have them...tha answer is no we don't. Next if you speed and get caught just stop and get your ticket to many times I have seen the ones who Hide/Run go home in body bags. Safe to just run your car on the strip and go home alive.

Just take a test light and check which fuse is hot when ignition is in the acc or on position..then tap into it.
