Sub Amp Buying Help
i'll start off by saying I'm cheap. I just want something that will give me some bass that's currently missing form my sound system. I'm looking at one at fry's called fusion that's a tube bass with amp built in for only 100. This is ideal for me just because I'm new to all the wiring stuff and it's all built in. All i'd have to do is wire it to the radio and then to the battery. I think it's a 300W. The other one i looked at is at pepboys. It says its an amp and bass box for about 80. It says its 800W but it dosnt say if it's mono channel or any of that and i've never heard of the brand. It's called STX. I'm also not even sure if it comes with the bass or if it's just the box. Any ideas?

With car audio most of the time if you go cheap, you will be disappointed.
eBay is your friend!

that basslink looks awesome!!! It could actually fit under the passenger seat instead of having it in the trunk. That would also make wiring much easier. And from the reviews i've read it sounds like it gives more kick than tube basses such as bazooka or the fusion i looked at. If i put it under a seat would it be unbearble to sit in? Or i guess that depends on how high i have it on.

my advice would be find out what the RMS power ratings of your sub/subs that you are wanting.
then find a nice Monochannel Class D Amp with a RMS rating that closely matches the RMS of your sub or subs. e.g. if you have 2 12" subs that have 400W RMS each, you'll need a amp that has a rating of 800W - 900W RMS (as this will be divided over 2 speakers for a total of 400 - 450W RMS per sub). I had 2 12" Kickers, that equaled 400W RMS each, and i went with an Alpine MRP-M850 with 800W RMS, and the subs thump so hard and clean, i can feel the pressure build up in my ears.
