Radar/Laser Detector
I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the units i see for about $50 and the ones i see for $200. Is there any real improvement on anything when buying the more expensive ones? or are there ones that are more reliable than others? When i worked at a car wash i noticed a good deal of nice cars that came in had the small "passport" thing resting on the dashboard in front of all the gages. I don't mind the bulky ones you put on the windshield though.

I have the Passport 9500i. Love the thing cept...
Passport 9500i Radar Detector & Laser Detector - Red - Escort Inc. Its 500$. I got connections to places and got it for 200$. So I couldn't pass the deal up. I've seen other passports and I have no negative points about it. Most passports come with the 2 way scanner. (which is scans the front and back of the car with the sensors) This is my first one, had it about a year. Never doubted me wrong. Has GPS so to tell me the actual speed im going, marks speed traps I put in. Also has a lock feature to get rid of the annoying X bands, which is the signal for cameras at gas stations and other places. Only negative for the radar detectors is the HH gun the cops have. Nothing can stop it because it is a trigger gun that turns on when the cop points the gun. |

The difference in the $50 ones and $200 dollar ones is the better range, 360 degree coverage, and the reading of more sophisticated types of radar such as pop and laser. If you can find a good deal on a 300 to 500 dollar one that saves u a good 100 or 200 go for it. Otherwise get one in the middle. Like one that costs about 200 or so. When it comes to things like electronics you get what you pay for and $50 isn't shit. Believe me you'll really regret it if you pay $50 for a detector and 100+ in tickets. Its better to pay for one up front 200 or so and save yourself multiple tickets and the hassle. |
