Installing Interior Neons

First.. I havn't seen any topics on something like this.. so I figured id make one. And if anyone has experience with putting interior neons on a mustang I would love to talk to them so I can figure this out easier..

Anyhow, I really dont like the whole Cigarette Lighter adapter.. just looks tacky... I have heard of other ways of doing it, like putting them straight to your battery.. But im not exactly sure how to set that up.. and for each neon, that would be ALOT of wires to put straight to your battery... Any help?

Feel free to PM me about this as( I am gonna catch hell for this) I guess I am the residential neon guy. It is very easy and can be done with minimal headache.

For each Neon... Just hook them into a switch. Just splice them to 2-1, 2-1, 2-1, 2-1 until you have 1 going to the switch, then the power side of the switch to the battery and the ground to a ground. Worked good for me with my fog lights and my window fluid sprayer lights on my Honda, and works still after 2 years. But on the line to the battery, I would put a fuse on there just in-case something happens, don't want to burn out those neons.

Either that or I know there are wire consoles out there you can hook the wires into, and then a power wire you could do the same above with.

first of all l.e.ds are the way to go, brighter longer lasting, wont break, 2nd, i wired mine through the firewall and into the fuseox under the hood, but the easiest way is to just stick the wires under a fuse thats always hot under your dash, if this doesnt make sence pm me

you could do that or just run it to your battery.. the only difference is that if you hook it up to your battery they will work even if your car is off but if you have them hooked to a fuse they will only work when it is on

Personally, I would just do it from the switch, not hard to mount a switch and find a nearby ground, but you could just do the fuse idea, since its interior anyways.

actually ... You could always hook it up to the fog light switch so whenever you have your fog lights on at night you have your neons as well.
