cold weather

hey just a quick question. will cold weather effect your subs. i have noticed that lately it has been real cold and it sound like my subs aren't even on. then i tun the bass up and they eventually come on. will the cold weather cause them to like "freeze" or something and not work till they warm up?

yes, the surround will become much more ridgid, you have to be careful though.... i've ripped the surround on my old alpine type r when it was like 5 degrees out and when i tried to beat real loud.

Cold will affect it but if you have a decent quality its nothing to be too too worried about. I always let the car warm up in the morning and leave the heat on full blast (I know the trunk isn't getting too much of that heat but it is getting some). Never have any problems with the subs but i also am not going to be stupid and crank it all the way. Just play it safe and if your car isn't warm inside or u hear a difference in your subs don't push the limit.
