Replacing The 8 Inchers In The 05-07

what would be the best replacement for the new 8's in the new mustang. i know there are some kickers and pioneer's, but wouldn't it be pretty easy to make a spacer to get the additional mounting depth to add better speakers.

Are most aftermarket subs too deep for the enclosure? And yeah a spacer plate would be fairly easy to make. If you can run a jig saw pretty good then it wouldn't be that much trouble. cut a hole just big enuff to mount the sub in and the cut the out side just big enuff to fit into the mounting hole for the sub enclosure(usually will be as big as the total outer circumference of the whole subwoofer). One thing to consider is the volume of the enclosuer and find a sub that will perform properly in that volume.

hey thanks for the info. it is pretty simple to make things for me, but i'm not good with the numbers part for the volume. i'll probably just have someone build a fiberglass panel for the door. i would think they could make it the correct volume pretty easily doing a custom job. either way i'll just be happy to have a car to drive again when i get back. thanks fo the help again

This is what you have to do...forget about puting in 8" subs in the doors. I have an 06 GT convertible and the car rattles enough stock! If you add subs in the doors youre only gonna make it worse...instead I added 8" Memphis component speakers to fill the space from the stock 8" subs in the doors and put an MTX prefab enclosure in the trunk to fulfill the bass. I used a JLAudio 12" W6v2 in the MTX enclosure.

not trying to make a set of 8's be it for the bass, just wanted the best mid-bass above the stock ones. to handle the bass i was actually considering the JL box designed for the 05+ that comes with one 13" JL. the one i'm talking about goes where the factory 10's are in the shaker 1000. who would pay $1300 for those is retarded IMO
