Subwoofer problems

I have a upgraded mach 460 but the wiring and stuff is still the same.

Just recently my subwoofers went out. But it was both of them, and I don't hear a crackling or a whine from them. All I hear is sound coming from the tweeters up front and speakers in the back.

I think it is a blown out fuse or loose wiring. Does this sound about right??

I am getting sick of the music in my car so I don't even put the faceplate back on my deck.

Sounds like a fuse man. Hopefully your amp didn't crap out, surely not but I've been through more than a few.

Pretty sure it isn't the amp. My other 4 speakers are still working and they run off the amps. So wouldn't they be crapped out too?

that must be one BIG amp if its running your subs and your mids and highs... check your fuses and check your wires to the subs. I popped the connectors off the back of my 12's once... I was like wtf...I checked everything I could and finally after a few hours pulled the subs and there were the wires just layin in the box

They are two seperate amps and yes they are pretty big but it saves me from losing some of the quality through my deck right?

But if I did lose a connection or something that will be an easy fix if this is a huge problem I am screwed cause college tuition is gonna keep me broke till I am 25....

check for signal going to the subs, if signal then your subs are either disconnected from in the box or blown. If no signal check for connection to the amp, if connected check for power to the amp (12v, remote, and ground). If amp is getting power and signal from the your deck then the amps got a blown channel.

You put your right foot in, you take your right foot out, you put your right foot in and ya shake it all about.... (but he is right, gotta check it from head to subs)

Okay I have an update. I am not getting power to my sub's, but I am to my other 4 speakers. My amps are running all 6 mind you, my dad said it might be the deck, I am not sure of that though.

i would try to power the subs on a different channel to rule out sub woofer issue.......check channels for possible issues with those...ummm..... i dont thin is the issue since you have all the other speakers...try that out and let us know

If the speakers are wired in series(which i doubt )then if one blew out the other would not play.Try thi:Take out the subs and use a 9 volt battery and connect the wire to each speaker.(postive on batt to posotive on sub and same with negative wire)The speaker should extend out or in if the speaker is any good (it wont move just go all the way out or all the way in)If one or both of them dont then you know your sub is blown. There are alot more things that you could check but they are hard for me to explain.I think you might have blown a sub though

Plus, when you've finished troubleshooting, upgrade to bananna clips and plugs because they are much more reliable than that wire clip on the back of the speakers.
