You probably are going to need to purchase a new key fob. my friend had the same thing happen to his for his firebird and when they took it apart and tried to replace the battery it just fell apart so potentially the key fob may be no good.

I would try to replace the battery first...Sounds like your battery is drained...(On the key fob that is)

One of the foremost culprits of that is high concentrations of RF frequencies in the area. Do you live; Near an airport? Radio antenna? Tv station? Anything that gives off radio waves will interfere with your fob. I personally would try getting a new fob or just going OLD SKOOL and unlocking your door manually...

I would like to know what you have figured out for the keyless entry too. I replaced the batteries and now they keyless entry doesn't work. I have to use my key in the door. I called Ford and they said after replacing the batteries I could bring in the fob and they would charge me $45.00 for each fob to reprogram them! Surly someone else has figured out what to do. If so, please let me know.
