Does anyone know how to properly hook up the air/fuel gauge? all the wires are hooked up, but it still jumps around like crazy...... any advice?
Thanks

if its a narrowband a/f ratio gauge it will do that. the o2s are constantly switching, telling the ecm rich or lean. the ecm then corrects and milliseconds later it switches again. if its a wideband a/f gauge and sensor, then something is wrong...

is there anyway to tell? the gauges came with the car, so i'm really not sure if it is a wide band or a narrow band.

if its bouncing around it most likely is narrowband...good for telling if your o2s are working but unfortunately not good for much else. does it "piggyback" off of your factory o2 sensors? if it does it is narrowband.

It's likely a narrow band, the standard a/f gauges are narrows. Widebands are expensive. If it just says rich / stoich / lean then it's a narrow. Widebands are going to output digits (12.1, 13.0, etc.)

Narrow band AF guages make great paper weights.
